A Weekend of Rock – Vicious Kitten Take Over Plymouth for the first weekend of March '25
What a weekend! 2025 is off to a killer start, and we couldn’t have asked for a better couple of gigs to keep the momentum rolling. On Friday night, we hit The George Inn, Plympton, where we were joined by some good friends who came to support us—including Alex, who brought along a guitar he built himself! Charlie had the honour of playing it, even though Alex forgot the strap (rookie error, mate). Nevertheless, it made its public debut in the encore with a roaring version of Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, and we’ve got to say—it sounded awesome!
Saturday night saw us rocking out at The Maritime, Plymouth Barbican, another packed-out venue with an absolutely electric crowd. We threw in a new song for the weekend—Eye of the Tiger by Survivor—and the energy in the room was unreal. From start to finish, both nights were full of epic singalongs, jumping, and some seriously impressive dance moves from the audience.
A special shoutout to Gemma and Ben, who had previously seen our acoustic duo The Pause but caught the full band for the first time this weekend! They came to check us out—we can’t wait to play at your wedding, guys!
Our setlist was stacked with classics and crowd favourites, spanning rock, pop, and anthemic hits. From the feel-good vibes of Walking on Sunshine (Katrina & The Waves) and Valerie (The Zutons/Amy Winehouse) to the high-energy power of Livin’ on a Prayer (Bon Jovi) and Sweet Child O’ Mine (Guns N’ Roses), we had something for everyone. The audience belted out Simply the Best (Tina Turner), danced their hearts out to Shut Up and Dance (Walk the Moon), and rocked out to Welcome to the Jungle (Guns N’ Roses). And of course, Mamma Mia (ABBA) had the whole place singing along!
It’s safe to say 2025 is shaping up to be an incredible year, and we can’t wait for all the gigs ahead and the amazing people we’ll meet (and rock out with) along the way!
Speaking of rocking out, our socials are buzzing right now—come be part of the madness! Hit us up on Facebook and Instagram (@viciouskittenband) and now on TikTok (@vicious.kitten) for all the latest gig updates and plenty more.
Until next time—stay loud, stay wild, and keep those air guitars ready!
